My name is Londa Stradling. I am married to Louis Stradling’s youngest child, Lamar. We have a copy of your book, ‘Uncle Johnny, Soldier at War’. We love the original ‘Johnny Book’ as we have called it, (do we all call it that?) we remember Johnny throughout the year, as I’m sure you do every day. And living in Mesa we are able to visit his marker at the Mesa cemetery every Memorial Day. This is one of our most held to traditions in our family. I sadly hadn’t taken the time to enjoy your book until I was teaching a class of 16 year old kids about how family history can be recorded and shared. When I started reading and looking at those pictures within I had a hard time putting it down. I have 4 children, all adults and they all hold Johnny in the highest esteem from the time they have spent hearing about his life. Tears come to their eyes when they read his letters. One of my boys uses his letters when speaking, when he can to illustrate the things he teaches. With this book my children and grandchildren can see more clearly a picture of what life was like for Johnny and those that went on after. I would like to buy a copy for each of my children to have in their homes. Can you please contact me and let me know if that would’ve possible? Thank you. And thank you for the hundreds and hundreds of hours that went into the making of this book.
